Employment Support
Employment supports exist to assist an individual to gain and maintain paid employment, with a focus on preparation and placement.
Next Step Residential Services encourages individuals to seek employment first. We provide staff to support individuals in their volunteer and paid work experiences and individuals are encouraged to look at community-based employment and volunteer opportunities. Our staff supports focus on helping individuals overcome the challenges of seeking and obtaining employment. Funded Employment Services are determined on an individual basis and reflected in the Referral Confirmation.
Employment Preparation
Supports designed to assist individuals in developing specific skills and knowledge for the purpose of obtaining paid employment. Typically includes training, post-secondary education, work-experience, career exploration and job search/development.
Employment Placement
Support designed to assist individuals with maintaining paid employment. This assistance may include on-the-job support to help the individual meet employer expectations and/or the development of a work environment that supports the individual.
